Answer: We are in the business of helping artists sell personalized stuff (we call 'em jamseeds) to their fans. The money can either go to support the artist in making new recordings or to charity. Or, if the artist prefers, they can send out free jamseeds.

The goal is to help artists build closer relationships with their fans while finding them money to keep producing art. It's not so much about the signed object or digital greeting, but about the personal bond that used to happen when you picked up a physical record in a store.

I think of it being a bit like when you get to the head of the line and Slash signs your T-shirt. It isn't about the T-shirt. It's about that moment where Slash peered out from under his hat at you and the T-shirt is just the reminder of that feeling.

We also encourage personal digital recordings by musicians for their fans. Sort of "micro-performances." The goal is to bring to online the same kind of feeling that usually only comes from a live show.

Answer: Originally, we were just for musicians, but now we're open to authors, comedians, actors, etc. In our book, you are all artists who deserve to be able to gain the benefits of Jamseed.

Answer: Anything you like! But we want to encourage you to make more jamseeds more personalized. For example, offering to send a birthday greeting to a fan's friend is more valuable to the fan than an autographed photo. But then again, let's not underestimate that an autographed photo that arrives in the mail and is posted up on the refrigerator can also be very cherished by a fan.

Answer: A digital jamseed is an audio, video, or picture file that is exchanged between the artist and the fan. We are working on building a repository for artists to send fans their digital files on Jamseed. For now, however, you can deliver jamseeds to your fans through any method that works.
